While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Four martyrs in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon

Friday 1-August-2025

BEIRUT, (PIC)

Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced on Friday that four individuals were martyred following a series of airstrikes launched by the Israeli military on Thursday, targeting various regions in southern and eastern Lebanon.

Lebanese media reported that Israeli warplanes bombed areas near Al-Jarmaq town, the Jabal Al-Ri'han highlands, and Al-Ma'hmoudiya in southern Lebanon. Other strikes hit hills surrounding Janta and Al-Khuraiba in Al-Biqaa' Valley, eastern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera TV reported multiple Israeli airstrikes on these same locations, including the highlands and surrounding hills.

For its part, the Lebanese National News Agency said that Israeli warplanes conducted intense raids across southern and eastern Lebanon, covering Al-Biqaa', Baalbek, and Jizzeen districts.

The report added that recent Israeli attacks, especially drone strikes, have intensified, causing additional casualties.

Although a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel took effect on November 27, 2024, Tel Aviv has violated it over 3,000 times.

Israel continues near-daily assaults on southern Lebanon, still occupying five major Lebanese hills seized during the September 23, 2024 offensive, which escalated into a full-scale war, resulting in over 4,000 Lebanese martyrs and about 17,000 wounded.

OHCHR: 1,373 Palestinians killed since May while waiting for aid in Gaza

NEW YORK, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) announced today, Friday, that 1,373 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces since May 27 while waiting for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.

In a press release issued by its office in the occupied Palestinian Territory, the UN Human Rights Office stated that 859 people were killed in the vicinity of Gaza Relief Foundation sites, and 514 along the routes of food convoys, adding that most of these killings were committed by the Israeli military.

The office further noted that within just two days—July 30 and 31—reports documented the killing of 105 Palestinians and the injury of at least 680 others along aid convoy routes in northern Gaza, in southern Khan Yunis, and near Gaza Relief Foundation sites in central Gaza and Rafah.

The statement stressed that shooting and shelling by Israeli forces continued along food convoy routes and near Gaza Relief Foundation locations, despite the Israeli army's announcement on July 27 of a limited pause in military operations to facilitate humanitarian response.

Al-Resheq: Witkoff’s visit to Gaza is propaganda stunt

Friday 1-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Member of Hamas’s political bureau, 'Izzat al-Resheq, said that the US envoy to the Middle East Steven Witkoff’s visit to Gaza is nothing more than a “publicity stunt aimed at containing the mounting anger over US-Israeli complicity in starving our people in the Strip.”

In a statement on Thursday, he added, “Witkoff sees Gaza only through the lens the Israeli occupation (apartheid regime) wants him to see and views the ongoing catastrophe through misleading Israeli eyes.”

“Witkoff will not witness the workings of the hunger guillotine, known as the ‘Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,’ which prepares the killing grounds for the Zionist war machine.”

He further noted that “the White House’s acknowledgment of the ‘Gaza famine,’ after previously denying it, without condemning the occupation responsible for it, amounts to exonerating the perpetrator and providing political cover for the continuation of the gravest crime in modern history.”

This comes amid worsening suffering in the devastated Strip and confirmations that hunger has reached advanced levels, with rising deaths caused by starvation.

The “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” was established after the outbreak of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, funded by the US and coordinated on the ground with the Israeli army, and was promoted as an initiative to provide aid under siege conditions.

However, human rights reports and field testimonies have documented serious violations, including the targeting of civilians during aid distribution operations.

International human rights organizations, including Jewish and American groups, have warned that the foundation constitutes a breach of humanitarian standards and poses a threat to neutrality and transparency in relief work, cautioning against its use as a tool of political and security pressure against Gaza’s residents.

'Hamas calls for worldwide mobilization next Sunday in solidarity with Gaza

Friday 1-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement has called for making next Sunday a national, Arab, Islamic, and global day of solidarity with Gaza, Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestinian prisoners, as the genocidal war and starvation campaign against the people of Gaza continue.

In a statement on Friday, 'Hamas also urged the free people of the world to escalate mass mobilizations every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the aggression and famine in the besieged Gaza Strip come to an end.

Hamas affirmed that “our people in the Gaza Strip are still subjected to a comprehensive genocide that uses starvation as a weapon of war to break their steadfastness.”

On Thursday, Hamas reiterated its readiness to immediately re-engage in negotiations if aid reaches those in need and the famine in Gaza is brought to an end.

The Movement stressed that continuing negotiations amid starvation “strips them of their meaning and effectiveness,” particularly after Israel unilaterally withdrew from the talks without justification.

The Hamas statement added, “The starvation being imposed by the occupation has reached an unbearable level in Gaza and poses the greatest threat to the lives of over two million Palestinians.”

Hamas called on the international community and all relevant parties to act urgently “to stop the mass slaughter being perpetrated by the enemy” and demanded immediate action to deliver food supplies to the Palestinian people without conditions and to ensure their protection.

International and UN calls have recently intensified after the sharp increase in the number of starving Palestinians killed at the aid distribution centers, called “death traps”, run by the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” which is backed by the United States and Israel.

Gaza death toll surges to 60,332 amid ongoing Israeli genocide

Archive photo

GAZA, August 1, 2025 (WAFA, PIC) –

At least 83 Palestinians were killed and 554 others were injured in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocide in the region, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

The Ministry confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 60,332 fatalities, with an additional 147,643 people sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

According to the Ministry, the death toll since Israel’s resumption of the genocide on March 18 after a two-month truce has also climbed to 9,163 , in addition to 35,602 others injured.

The new death toll included 1,383 aid seekers who were killed at or near US-backed distribution points, the Ministry of Health said.

Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities.

The Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

3 Palestinians starved to death, including 2 children

Friday 1-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian health ministry announced that hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded 3 new deaths in the past 24 hours, including 2 children, due to famine and malnutrition.

In a brief statement on Friday evening, the ministry confirmed that the total number of famine victims has risen to 162 martyrs, including 92 children.

It stressed that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen amid the blockade and severe shortages of food and medical supplies, renewing its call for immediate and urgent intervention from the international community and relief organizations.

Since March 2, Israel has completely closed Gaza’s crossings and barred the entry of goods and aid, leading to an unprecedented outbreak of famine across the Strip.

Israel continues its genocide war on Gaza for 665th day

Friday 1-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation army continues its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip for the 665th consecutive day on Friday through relentless air and artillery strikes, killing starving civilians and displaced families, all under US political and military backing and unprecedented international silence and inaction.

The PIC correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation has launched dozens of airstrikes, committing new massacres as the displacement crisis worsens, affecting over two million people amid severe famine.

Latest updates

Medical sources in Gaza hospitals confirmed that 12 civilians were martyred since dawn on Friday in ongoing Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, including two aid seekers.

Four martyrs and several wounded arrived at Nasser Medical Complex following drone strikes on tents sheltering displaced people in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younus.

Two martyrs and multiple injuries were reported after an Israeli strike targeted a civilian vehicle in central Dair El-Bala'h.

Several injured people were also reported following a strike on a house near Al-Shaikh Radhwan Cemetery in Gaza City.

Helicopter gunships launched an airstrike near Al-Ree'han Chalet close to the Islamic Complex in Gaza’s Al-Sabra neighborhood.

Drones opened fire on homes east of Gaza City.

Five members from the 'Ayash family were killed in western Dair El-Bala'h refugee camp; local sources confirmed the family has been erased from the civil registry following the attack.

Two people were killed and 73 others were injured at the Jordanian Field Hospital from the vicinity of the “Morag” axis, south of Khan Younus.

Three martyrs and several wounded were reported in drone strikes on tents in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younus.

Ruqayya 'Omar Mu'hammed Al-Qarra (23) was killed, and several others were injured when a tent near the Tabariya (Tiberias) Station, in western Khan Younus was targeted.

Child martyr Ahmad Samir Abdel Aal died in Nasser Medical Complex due to malnutrition caused by the siege and Israeli assault.

An Israeli strike hit land next to Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital in western Khan Younus.

Nasser Medical Complex announced the arrival of one martyr and several wounded aid seekers shot by Israeli forces near the “Morag” axis.

The genocide continues

Supported unconditionally by the US, the Israeli occupation’s genocidal war has so far, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, killed over 60,239 Palestinians and wounded 146,894, with more than 10,000 missing and famine claiming dozens of additional lives. Over two million Palestinians endure forced displacement under total devastation.

Since Israel violated the ceasefire on 18 March 2025, 9,071 martyrs and 34,853 injuries have been recorded.

Since May 27, when Israel turned limited aid points into “death traps,” 1,320 martyrs, 8,818 wounded, and 45 missing persons were reported.

Starvation-related deaths rose to 159, including 90 children.

Child A'hmed Abdel Aal dies of severe malnutrition in southern Gaza

Friday 1-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

A Palestinian child in the Gaza Strip was martyred on Thursday evening due to malnutrition and Israel’s starvation policy in the besieged enclave, the third to die on the same day as a result of hunger.

Three-year-old A'hmed Sameer Abdul 'Aal was pronounced dead at Nasir Medical Complex, in Khan Younus, southern Gaza Strip, due to severe malnutrition caused by the ongoing starvation and genocidal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

This brings the total number of deaths from famine and malnutrition since October 2023 to 157, including 90 children.

Earlier on Thursday, 26-year-old Karam Khalid Al-Jammal from Gaza also died from malnutrition. He had suffered from health conditions that required a special diet, which had not been available for months. He was reportedly paralyzed with muscle weakness, and his condition steadily deteriorated until his death.

Also on Thursday, medical sources reported the death of 'Aadil Fawzi Madhi at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younus, due to starvation and malnutrition under the ongoing Israeli siege.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health stressed that “all the desperate attempts to deny the reality of famine are contradicted by the increasing numbers of emergency cases and the rising death toll we have repeatedly warned about.”

In recent days, deaths from malnutrition have sharply increased. Children’s bodies have turned into skeletal frames, and many Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing frequent fainting spells as hunger intensifies amid a severe shortage of food.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), a global hunger monitoring body composed of international experts, has said that food shortages across much of Gaza have reached famine levels.

The IPC confirmed that evidence clearly shows widespread hunger, malnutrition, and disease are driving up hunger-related deaths.

A UN report further stated that 100% of Gaza’s population is facing severe levels of food insecurity, amid the ongoing genocide and blockade.

Fresh Israeli raids and kidnapping campaign in the West Bank

Friday 1-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) launched a series of raids across various areas of the West Bank, involving home invasions, kidnappings, and field interrogations.

The IOFs stormed Balata refugee camp east of Nablus where they kidnapped 'Hamouda Khudaish Abu Islam during a raid on his home in the camp.

In 'Huwwara town, south of Nablus, the IOFs kidnapped former prisoner Anas 'Oada after raiding his house.

In Jineen, local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces kidnapped Basil Abu Ju'ab, from the town of Qabatya, south of the city.

On Thursday evening, the Israeli occupation apartheid regime released nine detainees from Khirbet Umm Al-Khair east of Yatta, south of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), after imposing a financial bail of 500 shekels on each, in addition to restrictive conditions that limit their freedom and basic rights.

The conditions included a ban on communication between the released detainees, even though they are brothers and cousins, as well as an obligation to stay 100 meters away from the fence of the illegal Israeli settlement of Carmel, which is illegally built on their land, even though their homes are only a few meters away from it.

The arrests came after the killing of Oada Al-Hathaleen from Khirbet Umm Al-Khair, who was shot dead by an Israeli settler.

Israeli occupation forces raid towns east of Toulkarm as aggression on city enters 187th day

Toulkarm, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces raided on Friday night the towns of Iktaba and 'Anabta east of Toulkarm city, according to WAFA correspondent.

Sources said that Israeli military forces stormed the town of Iktaba, deployed their troops, and disrupted the movement of vehicles and residents, conducting inspections and interrogations.

The occupation forces fired random gunshots to intimidate residents; however, no injuries or detentions were reported.

Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles raided 'Anabta town, patrolling its main streets and neighborhoods, and obstructing the movement of residents and their vehicles.

This comes amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against Toulkarm city and its two camps for the 187th consecutive day, as the occupation maintains a tight siege and strict measures on the Toulkarm and Nur Shams camps, deploying continuous military reinforcements and preventing residents from reaching their homes, while firing on anyone attempting to approach the camps.

The 'Arab Al-Mulai'hāt in Aree'ha (Jericho) issue urgent appeal after settlers burn their homes

Friday 1-August-2025

Aree'ha (Jericho), (PIC)

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers on Friday set fire to the homes of citizens returning from the 'Arab Al-Mulai'hat community to the Al-Mu’arrajat area, in Aree'ha (Jericho), after they had been displaced from there in early July.

'Hasan Mulai'hāt, the general supervisor of Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights and Targeted Villages, said that settler gangs surrounded the residents at dawn and burned their homes.

He added that the burning of homes and renewed attacks on citizens forced them to flee once again at dawn today, following the siege and arson. Mulai'hāt expressed deep concern over the horrific crimes committed by settler groups.

The organization documented firsthand testimonies from Bedouin families who had previously been forcibly displaced and had returned to their homes yesterday in a desperate attempt to regain a minimal level of stability.

Urgent appeal to protect them from forced displacement

Meanwhile, residents of the 'Arab Al-Mulai'hāt community in the Al-Mu’arajat area, northwest of Jericho, issued an urgent distress call to officials, human rights, and international bodies, demanding immediate intervention to stop what they described as an organized crime of forced displacement carried out by settler groups under the protection of the occupation forces.

In a statement, Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights explained that the community had been subjected in recent months to a series of assaults and violations, including raids, property vandalism, intimidation of residents, poisoning and theft of livestock, and road closures.

It noted that these practices had forced over half of the residents into displacement at the beginning of July.

After 27 days of forced displacement, several families returned on July 31 to their lands in the community, with the support of the Ministry of Wall and Settlement Resistance, the Land Authority, the Jericho Governorate, and other national institutions. They were provided with the bare minimum for resilience, such as tents, water, and electricity, to support their stay.

After their return, settlers surrounded the families in the area, and the Israeli occupation army imposed a siege, amid ongoing threats and the absence of any real guarantees to prevent further attacks.

Residents fear these measures are part of a broader plan to displace Bedouin communities from the Jordan Valley, as part of a systematic policy to empty the land for the sake of settlement expansion.

Illegal Israeli settlers attack Douma village south of Nablus

NABLUS, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) –

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers, on Friday night, attacked the village of Duma south of Nablus, according to local sources.

Sources reported that a group of colonists, under the protection of the Israeli occupation army, attacked the outskirts of Douma village amid heavy gunfire, which sparked confrontations in the area.

The settler violence against Palestinians and their properties has dramatically increased since the onset of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7th, 2023.

The indiscriminate violence by Israeli colonists against Palestinian civilians and their properties has been widely condemned.

Several countries have imposed sanctions against Israeli colonists accused of committing acts of violence against the Palestinian people in the West Bank. T.R.

Israeli occupation forces seize 13 dunums of land near Jenin for settler-only road construction

JENIN, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces seized today, Friday, 13 dunums of Palestinian agricultural land in the village of Dhahr al-Abed, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, according to a local landowner.

Jihad 'Amarna, the landowner, told WAFA that occupation forces marked a 13-dunum agricultural land with orange signs before proceeding to bulldoze it to make way for a colonial road.

He said bulldozers have started building a road that extends from the colonial outpost established illegally on the hills of Khirbet Mas'oud, passing through his seized land, which was seized, and work is currently ongoing there.

'Amarna noted that over the past week, Israeli bulldozers started razing areas in Khirbet Masoud to expand the colonial grazing outpost established in 2019 atop the hill. He added that colonists frequently attack farmers, unleash their livestock into agricultural lands, and carry out acts of vandalism and destruction.

Khirbet Mas'oud falls under the jurisdiction of the Zabda Village Council and consists of three residential communities, with a population of around 350 residents.

The occupation continues to raze areas surrounding the colonial outpost atop the hill, seizing dozens of dunums of agricultural land.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces a Palestinian Maqdisi (Jerusalemite) to self-demolish his home in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), August 1, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime today forced a Palestinian resident of Jerusalem to demolish his own home in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) neighborhood of Jabal Al-Mukabbir

Local sources told WAFA that Adham Bassam 'Owaisat began demolishing his house with his own hands following an order issued by the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem, under the pretext of lacking a building permit.

The house, which was built in 2019, spans no more than 50 square meters.

Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem are often compelled to demolish their own homes to avoid incurring heavy fines if the Israeli municipality carries out the demolition itself.

'Hamas welcomes international positions supporting Palestinian rights

Thursday 31-July-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement expressed its appreciation for the positive positions announced during the high-level international conference held in New York on the Palestinian cause.

In a statement released Thursday evening, the Movement said it views with great interest every step that could achieve positive progress in the Palestinian people’s struggle across various levels.

'Hamas welcomed international efforts and positions aimed at restoring the Palestinian people’s rights to their land and homeland, and establishing their independent state without conditions, considering this an inherent and natural right.

The Movement stressed that the recognition of a fully sovereign State of Palestine is the fruit of the continuous struggle of the Palestinian people and a reflection of respect for the rules of international law.

It reaffirmed that resistance and its weapons are a national and legal entitlement as long as the occupation persists, as endorsed by international charters and norms, and that they cannot be relinquished except through the full restoration of Palestinian rights and the establishment of a fully sovereign independent state.

'Hamas emphasized that halting the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing, followed by ending the occupation, is the first step in any serious international action, requiring the isolation of Israel and the prosecution of its leaders as war criminals, rather than embracing them or signing agreements or normalization deals with them.

13 injured and sick children from Gaza arrive in Spain for treatment

MADRID, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) –

Thirteen injured and sick children from the Gaza Strip arrived in Spain with their families to receive treatment at Spanish hospitals.

Spanish Minister of Health Mónica García, who welcomed the group upon their arrival, affirmed that Spain is a country of solidarity and does not turn its back on suffering, stressing that this is not enough and that more must be done.

She called on Israel to implement an immediate ceasefire and to allow humanitarian aid to enter, enabling the provision of essential medical care and the unimpeded entry of food, so that civilians can live in peace in a Palestinian state recognized by Spain.

The minister confirmed that, despite the challenges, the evacuation was successfully carried out. She explained that Spain is undertaking this operation because the bombardment has devastated the health system, even though hospitals are safeguarded under international law.

She also highlighted that one of the children has a heart condition and is accompanied by his mother, who is an amputee. They traveled alone because Israel prevented the father from accompanying them.

German Foreign Minister visits Al-Tayba, near Ramallah, amid escalating Israeli settler attacks

RAMALLAH, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) —

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul inspected the aftermath of Israeli colonist attacks in the town of Al-Tayba east of Ramallah today, condemning the violence as organized terrorism and crimes that must be addressed and stopped.

Wadephul expressed concern over reports that the Israeli military either failed to prevent the attacks or may have even participated in them, a matter troubling the German government.

He was received by Al-Tayba Mayor, Sulayman Khouriya, the town’s church leader, Bashar Fawadhla, and local residents who detailed repeated assaults on citizens and their property. The German delegation also visited St. George’s Church, which was targeted last month when colonists deliberately set fire near the town cemetery and the historic church dating back to the 5th century.

Wadephul urged Israel to adhere to international law, prosecute the attacking colonists, and protect Palestinian civilians. He described settlement expansion as a major obstacle to the two-state solution, restricting Palestinian movement, and emphasized Germany’s firm position that such colonial policies violate international law and require strict legal measures.

He reaffirmed Germany’s support for a Palestinian state and said his country is involved in state-building efforts, without opposing early recognition. He stressed that a negotiated two-state solution remains the only sustainable path to peace, security, and dignity for both parties.

The minister noted the region faces a critical turning point, calling for law and peace to prevail. He insisted Israel must fulfill its responsibilities for coexistence and peace, and that while recognition of Palestine might come at the end of negotiations, the process must begin now.

Mayor Khouriya described the visit as extremely important to closely observe ongoing settler violence, hoping for intervention to deter attacks and protect citizens. He detailed the wide-ranging assaults including arson, theft, property damage, and destruction of crops by releasing livestock onto Palestinian lands.

Local journalist Jurees 'Aazar, himself affected by recent settler attacks, recounted how colonists set fire to his vehicle, forcing him and his family to suffer smoke inhalation. He called for international protection for all Al-Tayba residents from the settlers’ violent assaults.

Recent colonist attacks on Al-Tayba included the burning of two vehicles and racist graffiti. On June 4, colonists established a new outpost on the ruins of homes from a Palestinian family displaced about a year ago after a series of violent attacks.

On July 7, colonists set fire near the cemetery and St. George’s Church, prompting wide condemnation from religious and international communities.

On July 14, several patriarchs, church leaders from Jerusalem, and diplomats from over 20 Arab and foreign countries visited Al-Tayba amid the surge in colonist attacks on the town, its properties, and Christian sites, especially churches and cemeteries.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
